How are STD’s prevented?
STD’s can be prevented in various ways and some ways that STD’s can be
prevented is Abstinence, vaccination, reduce number of sex partners, mutual
monogamy, and use condoms. Preventing STD’s can be easier then it seems an
example of a way of preventing STD’s is before you and your partner become
active in having sex you should both should get checked up before becoming sexually
active with each other. Another way is knowing how many partners that your
partner had before you. You have to be aware of you partners past of who they
were sexually active with so you can be aware if you they will put you in risk of
getting an STD.
A
good way of preventing STD’s is Abstinence with your partner. Abstinence is
defined as not having any type of intercourse like oral or vaginal intercourse.
You shouldn’t do it if you are not comfortable enough with your partner or if
you don’t believe you are ready. Abstinence prevents any types of infection. Abstinence
also prevents woman from getting pregnant. According to the what is Abstinence
article it says, “Used continuously, abstinence is 100 percent effective in preventing
pregnancy. It also prevents STDs” (What is Abstinence 2014).
Prevention of STD’s starts with the education and counseling
of STD’s. It also is about knowing the signs and symptoms of any sexually
transmitted disease. “Primary prevention of STDs begin with changing the sexual
behaviors that place person at risk for infection” (Clinical Prevention Guidance
2011). “As part of the clinical interview, health-care providers should
routinely and regularly obtain sexual histories from their patients and address
management of risk reduction as indicated in the report” (Clinical Prevention
Guidance 2011). "Client-centered counseling can increase the likelihood that the
patient undertakes or enhances current risk-reduction practices, especially
among persons seeking STD care.”(Clinical Prevention Guidance 2011).
My
references basically explains that STD starts with people being sexually
active. It gives information to people to inform them ways to prevent STD’s. It
tells you ways that helps you aware of being in risks of having a sexually
transmitted disease. In my references a good way that prevents STD’s is Abstinence
and it is explained detailed because it is the most productive way that keeps
you out of risks of having a sexually transmitted disease. Another good way of the
prevention of STD’s is becoming educated about STD’s and knowing what can
happen when you have a STD.
